Box Fire Coral comes from a large family of fire corals that inhabit shallow water reef tops. Colonies form open ended, thick-walled, box-like structures that extend upward from an encrusting base usually in areas with some water movement, but most commonly in areas with constant surge. Usually found in the waters near South Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean in depths ranging from 6 ft. to 30 ft.Each piece of Box Fire Coral (Milleporidae) shown on this page is unique. When you purchase one of these pieces, you are getting the actual piece shown. The dimensions shown correspond to how you are viewing the piece of coral in the photo. Most of our pieces can be place in different positions, so you can try setting each piece on different sides, until you find the position you prefer.
